On Saturday, June 7, 20Mission and Johny Radio hosted a Noise Hack: a day of building and programming experimental noise and music producing things. Participants built or coded electro-acoustic, electronic, or software noise devices. Then we jammed out!

Enjoy this spellbinding video of the Noise Orchestra, jamming at 20Mission, SF. Turn down the lights, put on your headphones, and press play. Then, scroll down to hear more about the hacking sessions:

Behind the scenes, totally cool people built and demo'd totally cool noise-making devices and instruments. Check it out the video!

Johny Radio taught participants to build the Jar Of Noise: a fun, light-reactive electronic oscillator, based on the Schmitt logic inverter. http://noise.inyourear.org

Merlin demo'd and performed her Stylotar, a slimy electric guitar body Frankenstein'd with a seriously dissected Stylophone. (pretty sure her warranty is voided!) http://www.alexglow.com/
